IN THE
JUNE ISSUE

Welcome to the June issue of the Monterey News! There is so much to celebrate here.

These pages are bursting with your submissions—much appreciated!  We celebrate graduations, art shows, another annual town meeting, our traditional Memorial Day festivities, and new suggestions for your summer reading.

Look for articles from the native plants group and the historical society.  Hear from the digital skills instructor and the parks commission. Remember three town residents who have recently passed away.  Learn about yoga offerings in Monterey, and enjoy two new poems.

There is much more here inside these 36 pages!  Thank you everyone for supporting this issue —and your neighbors—with your contributions.

Happy summer reading.

IN EVERY ISSUE

  • From reports by readers to our long-time nature columnist Bonner McAllester, as well as intriguing drawings and essays by Bonner and others, we cover our neighbors of all species.

  • Is there a local issue that concerns you? Opinion pieces and letters to the editor are always welcome, and we rely on volunteers to cover meetings as well. If you're interested, please email Shannon at editor@themontereynews.com!

  • We're fortunate to be able to print most of the submissions that we receive, including (but not limited to) drawings, poems, profiles, reviews, remembrances, calendar events, event coverage, and creations by the young creators of our town! Submit here.
